AUDITIONS and INFORMATION
2026 Season
Please see each show below for specific audition information. While our stage centers on young performers, we believe the magic happens when generations come together and we are unique in that our shows feature actors of all ages. EXPERIENCED ACTORS: your years of dedication, hard work and passion have shaped you into the artist you are today. Auditions for the musical Mean Girls will be February 6 at 6 PM and 7 at 9 AM and callbacks (by invitation only) will be February 9 at 6 PM. Performances will be on May 8, 9 (2 shows), 15, 16, and 17. All ages from 6th grade to adult are encouraged to audition. Audition and rehearsal location will be at 3299 Walnut Ave. Signal Hill, CA 90755. If you are auditioning for any role that has a solo you should prepare a 30 second (no longer) song to sing. You MUST provide a music track (with no vocals) to be played from YOUR phone. You may NOT perform a song from Mean Girls but can choose any other song that shows off your range. You will also be asked to read from the script and learn a simple choreography routine as part of the audition. Please attend one of the auditions if you are interested in helping with any backstage opportunities such as costuming or make-up.
Rehearsals will be weekly: Mondays and Thursdays from 6-9 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM-1 PM. Please be prepared to list any known weeknight or weekend conflicts. If you are a Hoover, IVA, or Hamilton Middle School student, we will be holding separate auditions at your school. Look for the ad at school.
MEAN GIRLS - SPRING 2026
THE OUTSIDERS - SUMMER 2026
Auditions for the play The Outsiders will be May 29 at 6 PM and May 30 at 9 AM with performances on July 24, 25, 31 and August 1. Auditions are open to all ages from 6th grade to adult. Male actors are highly encouraged to audition. Audition and rehearsal location will be at 3299 Walnut Ave. Signal Hill, CA 90755. Auditions will consist of a cold reading from the script. Please attend one of the auditions if you are interested in helping with any backstage opportunities such as costuming or make-up.
Rehearsals will be weekly: Mondays and Thursdays from 6-8 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM-12 PM. If your summer plans would cause you to miss more than TWO rehearsals, we recommend that you do NOT participate. Please be prepared to list any known conflicts.
SINISTER SOIRÉE: A VILLAINOUS CABARET SUMMER 2026
Auditions for Sinister Soirée will be announced at a later date. A single performance will be on August 22. Auditions are open ONLY to current Act Out participants and alumni ages 6th grade through adult. Audition and rehearsal location will be at 3299 Walnut Ave. Signal Hill, CA 90755. This one-night fundraiser will feature a variety of "villainous" songs from the most popular Broadway musicals and performers will have the opportunity to sing a handful of exciting musical numbers that we might not normally do at Act Out.

THE LION KING KIDS - FALL 2026
We're upgrading our elementary production this year with a musical and invite children ages 8–11 (3rd-5th grade) to participate in The Lion King Kids! Auditions will be September 18 at 6 PM and 19 at 8 AM with performances on November 20, 21 and 22. Auditions are open to ages 3rd-5th grade. Audition and rehearsal location will be at the 3299 Walnut Ave. Signal Hill, CA 90755. Please prepare a 30-second song of your choice to sing. You will be asked to read from the script as part of the audition. If you are a Los Cerritos elementary student, we will be holding separate auditions at your school. Look for the ad at school. FROZEN - FALL 2026
Auditions for Frozen will be September 4 at 6 PM and 5 at 9 AM and callbacks (by invitation only) will be September 7 at 6 PM. Performances will be on December 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13. All ages from 6th grade to adult are encouraged to audition. Audition and rehearsal location will be at 3299 Walnut Ave. Signal Hill, CA 90755.
